Necron, formerly known as "Dias Bagil", is one of the main antagonists introduced in King's Field 2.  Necron makes his first appearance in the series claiming to be the 'savior king', a mysterious inhabitant that controls and rules the Island of Melanat.  From his collosseum in the depths of the island, he has served the dragon demi-god, Guyra, and obtained powers that allow him to control the undead and envelope the island in darkness.
Fai Fadlin, one of the few surviving High Elves in Verdite, traveled to the Island of Melanat with his best friends Dias Bagil and Nola BagilA rather skittish individual, he spends most of his time hiding in the depths of the caves near the Small Mine bartering his rare artifacts in exchange for items he needs to leave the island.

During the course of gameplay in King's Field 2, the player is able to ascertain some history about Dias Bagil before he became Necron.  Through dialog with Dias's sister, Nola, his best friend, Fai Fadlin, and several townsfolk throughout the island, you learn that Dias came to the island with his sister to challenge the island's power and prove he was the strongest warrior.  Dias was able to overcome the elemental guardians and traps laid by Thedeck and King Harvine, infiltrate the deepest parts of the island and discover the sources of the dark elves' power.  In doing so he eventually came into contact with the dormant dragon, Guyra, and was able to obtain an ultimate dark power in exchange for his servitude.
Fai had come to the island to help his former friend Dias Bagil find the source of an unimaginable power that would give him the strength to be the strongest fighter in all of VerditeShortly after reaching the island, Dias began to turn more and more evil and Fai feared for his life and began coming up with a way that he and Nola could escape.

Necron's newfound powers included the ability to raise and control the dead, allowing him to build an army of former Verdite soldiers which he uses to guard his island.  He was also able to harness the ability of darkness, enveloping the island in fog, a magical power he used to bargain with the inhabitants of the island, giving them glimpses of daylight in exchange for their loyalty.

After becoming Necron and quickly taking a turn into madness, Dias goes to the mainland to take the holy sword of moonlight from its safe chambers within the halls of castle VerditeHe is able to obtain the sword and escape, leaving only a challenge to king Jean Alfred Forester to come to Melanat and fight him to regain his sword and end the onslaught of evil creatures that would soon be plaguing Verdite.

Considering the list of items that Fai asked to trade for, and the fact you find Nola's corpse along the shore of Verdite in King's Field III leads the player to believe he was getting these items together to give Nola a chance to escape the island and go back to a normal life back on the mainland of the continentLikely though, without the special necklace, Seath's Tear, she would have failed to use the Figure of Seath to revive herself and cleanse the poison from her body once back on the mainland.
Necron was the primary antagonist of King's Field 2 and was defeated by Alexander Thornton Regginis near the end of the game's plot which allowed Alexander access to reach Guyra, who was truly controlling the island.  Necron's presence on the island greatly affected the day to day life of the inhabitants and particularly those who worked in the mines scattered within the depths of Melanat.

The darkness that enveloped Melanat Island that also caused its inhabitant to be poisoned was directly controlled by Necron.  With the poison requiring a liquid antidote only found on the island, he was able to force all the inhabitants to stay on the island.

In the fan made game, King's Field: Dark Destiny, more history about Necron is unveiled to the player, giving you full control over the story that follows Dias Bagil's initial journey to the center of the island.  During gameplay you are able to meet up with the spirit of Jonas Bagil, Dias's father, and learn that you a special demon's blood within your veins that allow you to master dark magic.  Shortly after the reunion with his father's ghost, Dias is able to break into the collosseum and defeat Kal Fargus, the magus of ice and master of the island.  Once doing so he frees the contained conciousness of Guyra who gives him the power to go steal the moonlight sword from Verdite Castle, thus finishing the story of the game and leading the player into the beginning of the King's Field 2 storyline.

Fai Fadlin

Fai, in the caves in King's Field II
Series: King's Field
First Game: King's Field II

Fai Fadlin, one of the few surviving High Elves in Verdite, traveled to the Island of Melanat with his best friends Dias Bagil and Nola Bagil. A rather skittish individual, he spends most of his time hiding in the depths of the caves near the Small Mine bartering his rare artifacts in exchange for items he needs to leave the island.

Fai had come to the island to help his former friend Dias Bagil find the source of an unimaginable power that would give him the strength to be the strongest fighter in all of Verdite. Shortly after reaching the island, Dias began to turn more and more evil and Fai feared for his life and began coming up with a way that he and Nola could escape.

He holds many key items in King's Field II including a Light Crystal, Necron's Map, the Moon Gate and Harvine's Flute. He trades these to Alexander throughout the course of the game in exchange for several Crystal Flasks and a Figure of Seath.

Other appearances

Fai Fadlin along with Nola Bagil also make an appearance in King's Field: Dark Destiny where it is revealed that at one point when Fai was assisting Dias with his journey to the center of the island that they had a falling out. As a skilled cartographer he creates a map to assist Dias in Dark Destiny, and later is the same map he trades to Alexander in King's Field II.

Considering the list of items that Fai asked to trade for, and the fact you find Nola's corpse along the shore of Verdite in King's Field III leads the player to believe he was getting these items together to give Nola a chance to escape the island and go back to a normal life back on the mainland of the continent. Likely though, without the special necklace, Seath's Tear, she would have failed to use the Figure of Seath to revive herself and cleanse the poison from her body once back on the mainland.
