The Excellector is the name of the sword crafted by Leon Shore in King's Field III and aids Austin Lyle Forester in creating the Ichrius Key which allows him to travel to the Place of the Beginning and receive his light power from the archmage Orladin. The sword begins as a short blade of transparent crystals, and grows in power and length twice during the course of the game as Austin Lyle gains experience from defeating enemies.
Once the Excellector reaches its third level, Austin takes the sword to Leon Shore and combines it with the Ichrius Wing, Ichrius Eye and Ichrius Tear to form the Ichrius Key, thus draining the sword of its power and returning it to its original state. The sword can be powered back up to level 3 after it is drained.
